if i knew they meant it, i'd take them up on the offer

but i realize people plan stuff on weekends. i, therefore, have to do things on my own. no worries though. it helps me let out my agressions dealing with some of this stuff.

last week i got started on the ceiling in the basement, but i sorta need two sets of hands to position and screw the panels into place. so i made one 8x8 panel and stopped right there. i figure when i can get some help, i'll continue. if not, i'll find some way of doing it on my own again. melissa took pictures, unfortunately they haven't been uploaded yet.

however, we DO have pictures of this weekend's adventure. the porch is awaiting its return and this weekend marked the beginning of the end for the previous owner's "improvements" to the house's curb appeal.

on your mark!
just getting started

get set
there were ALL KINDS of nails, screws, staples, etc. holding this thing together.

go!
a little putty...

keep going!
some primer...

almost there!
and some paint.

to be continued.
and we're halfway done!

i'll let you know more about the inside tomorrow. adios muchachos... and muchachas!

Happy Anniversary!!

Happy Anniversary to us!! Okay, belated anniversary. As of April 13th, we've owned our house for exactly one year.

We've come a long way in one year... refinished hardwood, new tile floors, lots of paint, romex, ceiling fans, canister lights, elongated toilets, roman blinds,.... Hmmm, doesn't sound like much when you put it that way.

Thank you everyone for your manual labor, outlet for frustration, supportive criticism, and sympathetic ear. We could've done it without you, but it would've taken a lot longer. We appreciate the help.

Stay tuned as the adventure continues.
